Hello adventurer! In today’s quest, I’m going to explore how my 2025 was and the importance of setting goals for 2026.
And I want to know what adventures and goals you have planned! 😉
MY 2025 IN REVIEW
January-July: Working on the ending phase of the Mafia game, and the content to teach UX in games.
August: Released ‘Mafia: The Old Country’.
September: I went to Antwerp for the revival of ‘Game UX Summit’. Which is a dedicated professional UX event for the gaming industry.
October: The industry does what it has been doing so much the past years…. and I found myself out of a job.
November: Published the Learn Game UX Design website and started this Newsletter. (Which was a goal of mine for 2025)
November: I went to Berlin to ‘Games Ground Berlin’, and did a talk about UX in games (video and more will be available later, so stay tuned for that!)
November: Started working at IO Interactive on the upcoming game ‘007: First Light’, with travels to visit new colleuges.
My Review: The first half of the year went as I thought, but Autumn has a lot of suprices and brought change. I had to adapt and go with the flow, both with a lot of travel and having to find a new job again.
This showed me the importance of being adaptive and ready for change, that can come at any time.
✨ What about my 2026?
I’m going to continue giving you learning about Game UX Design….
and i have a lot more planned too! 😉
THE POWER OF WRITING GOALS
Did you know: People with written goals are more likely to achieve success?
A Harvard study suggests 83% of the US population does not have goals.
Only 8% achieve their New Year’s goals.
92% of people who set goals at the start of the year have abandoned them only 15 days later.
